Due to the retirement of the current CEO, Henderson Mullin, in September 2026, we are looking for a strategic, values-driven Chief Executive Officer to lead Writing East Midlands into its next phase of growth and stability.
A respected, Arts Council-aligned literature development agency, we support writers at every stage and are recognised for our expertise in working within community settings for social good.
This is an opportunity to:
· Lead new visioning and thinking in complex times.
• Lead sustainable growth and income diversification
• Champion inclusive creative practice
• Manage our key relationships and partnerships including Arts Council England
• Support our transition from CIC to CIO
We’re seeking a senior leader with experience in the arts, cultural, education, or voluntary sector, strong financial and governance skills, and a passion for literature and inclusion.
